内容摘要Abstract:
The use of rubber granules recycled from waste tires as fine aggregates in concrete products can not only reduce the consumption of river sand, but also enable the large-scale use of waste tires. The addition of rubber particles further enlarges the complexity and heterogeneity of concrete, which makes the mechanical properties of rubberized concrete more unstable than ordinary concrete. This study presents an experimental study and a mesoscale model for evaluating the mechanical properties of crumb rubber concrete (CRC). In the experimental study, compressive, indirect tensile, and flexural strengths of CRC with 6%, 12% 18% rubber contents were tested. Then the tested CRC samples were modelled as a five-phase material containing rubber, coarse aggregate, mortar, aggregate-mortar interface layer, and rubber-mortar interface layer. Numerical results also indicated that the mechanical strength reduction of CRC was mainly controlled by the rubber content, rather than the shape, size, distribution of rubber. The effect of rubber particles on the mechanical properties of concrete was similar to that of pores. Due to the low stiffness of rubber, the location of the rubber particles was prone to cracking under stress concentration conditions, which could be the main reason for the reduction in the tensile strength of CRC.
