内容摘要Abstract:
For decades high voltage alternating current (HVAC) was considered as the most economical solution to transmit and deliver electric power. With the recent developments in power electronic devices, high voltage direct current (HVDC) has been recognized as the most prominent technology to transmit electric power. Multi-terminal direct current (MTDC) based transmission systems as a promising technology for future power systems are the major focus area for researchers and industries these days. Today, a number of MTDC systems have been implemented physically. The major motivation for constructing such MTDC systems is the integration of large-scale offshore power sources such as wind turbines and solar systems. This lecture is focused on the most critical challenges and issues related to the operation and control schemes for the integration of MTDC systems. At first, a detailed discussion will be conducted to show the challenges for the integration of MTDC systems, and then an analysis related to those challenges for operation and control schemes for existing MTDC systems will be provided. Finally, a road map to tackle such challenges shall be discussed.
