Speaker/Lecturer: Prof. Zhongshan Li, Lund University, Sweden
Time: Jul. 20th to 22nd (Thursday to Saturday), 2023, 8:30-12:15
Venue: Teaching Building-Ⅱ-406 (T2406), HIT Shenzhen Campus
This is a short course about laser combustion diagnostics for the purpose to help graduate students, Ph.D. students and young researchers in grasping the fundamentals of using laser diagnostics as tools in developing their research activities on combustion and related subjects. The topics covered are listed as the following content:
1. General introduction
2. Molecular Spectroscopy
3. Instrumentation
4. Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF)
5. LIF application
6. Rayleigh scattering
7. Raman scattering
8. Coherent anit-Stoke Raman scattering (CASRS)
9. Thermophosphors
10. Laser-induced incandescence (LII) and Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS)
About the Speaker/Lecturer:
Zhongshan Li, Professor of Division of Combustion Physics, Lund University, Sweden, mainly focuses on the development and application of robust and reliable laser/optical techniques for advanced diagnostic in hot reactive flow, i.e. flame and plasmas. Many spectroscopic techniques have been utilized in his research including PLIF, IRPS, IR-DFWM, FRS, TDLAS, broadband UV absorption, Photolysis-LIF, fs-TPLIF and FINS etc. Research targets involve turbulent combustion, nonthermal gliding arc plasma, alkali-chemistry in biomass combustion/gasification, fossil-free fuels (ammonia and metal powder) and functional nanoparticle/nanowire aerotaxy. His recent research focus has been sustainable alternative fuels, including hydrogen, ammonia, and metals. He has co-authored 270+ peer-reviewed scientific journal papers, among which more than 100 were published in leading journals in combustion-related fields and has been cited 8300+ times and an H-index 50 and i10-index 198 at Google Scholar. He was elected Fellow of The Combustion Institute 2021 and also has given many invited talks at well-known international conferences and seminars, e.g., Keynote-speak at European Combustion Meeting (ECM 2019, April 14-17th, 2019 at Lisbon, Portugal), the 17th GRC on Laser Diagnostics for Combustion Research (Waterville Valley Resort, NH, USA, August 11-16, 2013), and the 13th GRC on Laser Diagnostics for Combustion Research (Holyoke, USA, 2005).
