摘要（Abstract）：

Selective attention is the ability to focus on goal-relevant information while filtering out irrelevant information, which is fundamental for learning across a variety of situations. In this talk, I will present a series of studies examining the role of selective attention in visual and audiovisual categorization tasks and the developmental changes of the attentional focusing and filtering components in learning. Evidence from behavioral responses, eye movements, and multinomial processing tree models suggests that (1) selective attention could be decomposed into focusing and filtering mechanisms, and (2) the two mechanisms operate differently across development, with the filtering component exhibiting protracted development in young children. The findings have important implications for understanding the role of attention in the development of learning across modalities. They may also pose challenges to theories and models of categorization that presume developmentally invariant mechanisms. I will conclude the talk by discussing how our research on selective attention, categorization, and selective social learning can contribute to the current project.

邓玮博士于美国俄亥俄州立大学心理系获得博士学位，曾在俄亥俄州立大学认知发展实验室从事博士后工作，现任澳门大学社会科学学院心理系助理教授、博士生导师，澳门大学认知与脑科学研究中心主要研究员，兼任珠海澳大科技研究院副研究员。是澳门大学注意与脑认知发展实验室（ABCD Lab）PI，担任Journal of Experimental Psychology: General、Frontiers in Psychology编委。目前作为项目负责人主持或完成了五项研究课题，其中作为负责人已完成国家自然科学基金青年基金一项。

邓玮博士长期从事注意与认知发展的研究工作，在类别学习、归纳推理、选择性注意、眼动技术方面具有研究专长，在婴儿及幼儿研究领域有丰富的研究经验。擅长以实验设计、眼动与脑电技术、以及计算建模方法，揭示儿童到成人的认知变化过程和注意机制。作为第一作者或主要作者的相关研究成果发表在心理学国际权威期刊Psychological Science、Cognitive Psychology、Developmental Psychology、Child Development等，并有发表和评审顶级认知科学年会论文经验。
