Abstract:
Two-dimension (2D) transition-metal chalcogenides (TMCs) reveal interesting physical phenomena, including quantum-spin Hall effect (QSH), valley polarization, 2D superconductivity and potential applications for functional devices. In this talk, I will first introduce our recent progress in VSx heterodimensional superlattice. In this work, we report for the first time that an intrinsic heterodimensional superlattice consists of alternate 2D VS2 and 1D VS chain array grown directly by chemical vapor deposition. I will also discuss Cr5Te8. An extensive examination of the associated magnetic properties suggests strong phase-dependent magnetic order and superior anomalous Hall effect in Cr5Te8. Anomalous Hall conductivity and anomalous Hall angle of m-Cr5Te8 simultaneously reach 650 Ω-1cm-1 and 5%, respectively, larger than typical itinerant ferromagnets. Apart from the two 2D magnet above, I will also introduce two new material system: 1) single-Pt-atom chains (SMACs) imbedded MoS2. We developed a chemical vapor co-deposition method to introduce SMACs dense networks into wafer-scale transition-metal dichalcogenide material (TMDC) film. 2) a general chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method to produce more than 40 different types of atomically-thin 3d-element based transition metal chalcogenides (3d TMCs), which is a major breakthrough in the synthesis of 2D materials, especially 2D magnet. I will also introduce our recent progress on 2D ferroelectric materials.

刘政,现任新加坡南洋理工大学材料科学与工程学院教授。目前的主要研究方向 为二维材料的合成与应用。在 Nature、Nature Materials 和 Nature Electronic 等国际顶尖期刊发 表学术文章 330 余篇,总引用次数超过 47000 次,H-index 现为 103。入围 2012 年能源类世界 技术奖。2013 年获得著名的新加坡 NRF 研究基金和南洋助理教授头衔。2018 年获得

ICON-2DMAT 青年科学家奖和的新加坡青年科学家奖。2019 年荣获新加坡材料研究学会讲席 教授,同年获得亚洲科学之星和南洋研究奖。2020 年和 2021 年分别获 ACS Nano Rising Star
奖和 Small 青年科学家创新奖。2018-2022 年连续入选高被引科学家名单,兼任多个期刊编辑。
