内容摘要Abstract： 

In this talk, we begin with some examples that the use of nonconforming element methods gives stable solutions. Then, we claim that the nonconforming element methods are more intrinsic to conforming counterparts. We then give several examples of nonconforming elements. Then a method of generating nonconforming elements is explained. Some examples of this procedure are presented.

个人简介(About the speaker):

Sheen Dongwoo教授的研究方向是偏微分方程数值解，包括流体力学、固体力学以及电磁场中偏微分方程问题的有限元方法、并行算法和大规模计算。在数十年学术生涯中，Sheen教授获得了诸多奖项和荣誉。2018-2020年他担任韩国计算科学与工程学会主席，2012-2016年担任韩国生物数学学会主席，2007-2008年担任工业与应用数学学会东亚分会主席。2012年获得韩国科学技术奖，2009年在第五届亚洲数学大会上做大会报告。他（曾）担任多个国际SCI杂志的（副）编委，包括 Journal of Korean Mathematical Society, International Journal of Numerical Analysis & Modeling, Journal of Computational Mathematics等杂志。
