内容摘要Abstract: 

The past decades have seen robots move out from industrial floors to daily lives. They are no longer confined to closed environments but now co-exist and collaborate with humans in uncertain dynamic environments. In this regard, we must carefully deal with the interaction between a robot and its human partner. In this talk, I will introduce previous and ongoing works on robot control in physical human-robot interaction. Two research questions will be discussed: (i) how to model physical human-robot interaction and especially human motor control? (ii) how to design control strategies for a robot to interact with its human partner? These will be elaborated with target applications, including teaching by demonstration, tele-operation, robotic rehabilitation, etc. Future works and promising research directions will be then outlined.

个人简介(About the speaker):

Dr Yanan Li is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Department of Engineering and Design, University of Sussex, UK. He received BEng and MEng degrees from the Harbin Institute of Technology, China and a PhD degree from the National University of Singapore.

Before joining Sussex, he was a Research Associate in the Imperial College London, UK and a Research Scientist in the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. Dr Li has active research in human-robot interaction, control theory and their applications in robotic manipulation, rehabilitation robots, tele-operation and shared driving. His research has been funded by UK EPSRC, Royal Society, EU, Singapore SERC, MDA, etc.
