摘要（Abstract）：

In recent years, the field of data science has been exploring the possibility of detecting empathy through the use of various data sources. This is an exciting development, as empathy plays a central role in human relationships and can have far-reaching effects on social interactions. This discussion will delve into the concept and the neural cognition basis of empathy, and explore a series of studies that have attempted to measure empathy and its effects across groups through the analysis of facial expressions, speech patterns, and physiological responses. The talk aims to critically assess the benefits and limitations of these empirical methods and examine the ethical implications of using data to measure human emotions. The central question of whether empathy can truly be detected through data will be discussed, along with the potential implications of such findings for our understanding of human emotions and interpersonal dynamics. In the future, we hope to explore the emotional role of empathy robot in the process of human companionship and comfort.

报告人简介(About the speaker):

澳门大学脑中心ANDlab(https://andlab-um.com/)课题组长(PI)，博士生导师，“好奇帮”公众号创办者。博士毕业于北京师范大学认知神经科学与学习国家重点实验室，曾任加州理工学院访问研究员。研究方向为社会认知和决策中的计算神经机制、焦虑与情绪加工、AI与人类社会交互等交叉领域。

担任多个期刊如Neuroscience Bulletin, BMC psychology, Brain Science的编委/青年编委。以一作或者最后通讯作者在Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews，Cerebral cortex，Neuroimage, Human Brain Mapping, Psychoneuroendocrinology，Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience等神经科学期刊和心理学期刊发表研究论文超过50篇。现为中国粤港澳大湾区脑智工程研究会会员。目前作为课题负责人已主持国家自然科学基金委项目2项，并主持深港澳合作项目，广东省自然科学基金项目和澳门科学技术发展基金等多项课题经费，同时担任国家自然科学基金委，广东省基金项目评审专家。
