个人简介

Alam Md. Mahbub is a professor at the Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of Technology (China) since 2012. He worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), research and postdoctoral fellows at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and lecturer at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Bangladesh). He received MEng and PhD degrees from Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2001 and 2004, all in Mechanical Engineering. More than 180 technical articles are authored and co-authored, including 66 journal papers, most of which have been published in the top-notched journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Fluids & Structures, Physics of Fluids, Physical Review E, Journal of Sustainable and Energy Reviews. Seven of the journal papers got positions in the lists of ‘TOP 25 HOTTEST ARTICLES’ and one paper has got a position in TOP 1% HIGHLY CITED ARTICLES in 2016 by THOMPSON REUTERS as of Science Indicator. He is the author of two books and 15 chapters in books. He has edited a special issue in ‘Wind and Structures, an International Journal’ and a conference proceeding published in Research publishing, Singapore. He has delivered 10 Keynote speeches at international conferences. His research has mostly involved fluid dynamics around single and multiple cylinders, flow-induced vibrations, fluid-structure interactions, airfoil aerodynamics, renewable energy, and flow controls. He has secured a total of RMB8 million research funding from national and international levels.

Prof Alam has received a number of awards: Japan Government Scholarship (monbusho) for Masters and PhD studies; JSPS (Japan Society for Promotion of Science) Postdoctoral fellowship; South Africa National Research Foundation (NRF) rating ‘Promising Young Researcher, Y1’; China 1000-young-talent scholar (青年千人计划); Shenzhen High-Level Overseas Talent; Shenzhen High-Level Professional; and 2015 Shenzhen Outstanding Teacher. He has also received 05 best paper awards from different conferences. He is an editorial board member of ‘Wind and Structures, an International Journal’ and Chief Topic Editor of Frontiers: Bluff-Body Aerodynamics and Fluid-Structure Interactions. He has been acting as a reviewer for the top-level journals, e.g., Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Fluids and Structures, Experiments in Fluids, Physics of Fluids, Ocean Engineering, International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, Journal of Sound and Vibrations, Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics.

研究方向

钝体空气动力学,结构风载荷测量及控制,流固耦合,流动诱发振动,空气及流体弹性理论,风力透平机械,线性和非线性动力学,信号分析,计算流体力学。上述研究方向主要针对能源工业,土木工程,近海力学,发电工业,建筑工程,航空工业;一方面,一些研究方向偏重于基础理论;另一方面,在实际应用上,该研究可用于油气工业中的立管行业,建筑空气动力学,气体透平机械以及航空器工程,核反应堆,管路工程,拖曳式水下交通工具等
